As a hand knitting designer working with magazines, independent yarn companies and creative hand dyers, I am passionate about all aspects of knitting and design. I collect my ideas for pattern wherever I go, from both the natural world and the built environment. The resulting knitting patterns have been published in magazines and journals including The Knitter, Knitting, The Journal of Scottish Yarns and Making Stories, and in my two books, “A Knitter’s Sketchbook” and “A Knitter’s Guide to Shawl Design”, both published by the Crowood Press. Through these publications, and through my own self-published patterns, I have worked with British Wool from several different producers including Chilton Grounds Farm, Blacker Yarns, The Border Mill, Black Isle Yarns and The Scottish Wool Company.
