I am a creative textile designer and producer based in the Glenkens, SW Scotland. I am passionate about supporting the Scottish and British wool trade. My business ethos and motto is ‘NATURAL – SUSTAINABLE – TRACEABLE’ and I aim to apply this in all aspects of my work. I hand make 100% wool and sheepskin (fleece inner) baby booties/soft shoes – called the ‘Peedie Naturals’ range. I have also just introduced 100% wool baby/toddler hats into the range. Each item has a ‘Traceability’ slip included that informs my customer about where the materials are sourced from, giving the contact information of the wool supplier. My wool suppliers are mainly small-scale farmers and crofters; in some cases the wool is sourced from heritage and rare breed flocks. Most of my booties are supplied in natural fleece colours. Some of my range is hand dyed using natural sources, either dyed by the supplier or dyed by myself. I do have more colourful dyed booties using commercial and indie dyed wool as well.
