About

Westfield Croft is a small fibre business run by Marguerite Fleming, producing breed-specific British yarns and handwoven textiles with a strong emphasis on traceability and rare breeds. Marguerite shepherds a flock of around 20 rare breed sheep, including Boreray, Hebridean and Icelandic. Their fleeces are transformed into both hand-spun and mill-spun Lopi-style yarns. She also works closely with two pedigree Shetland sheep flocks in the Scottish Borders, having processed five consecutive years of their naturally coloured fleeces into knitting yarns. Alongside her own flock, Marguerite collaborates with local farmers and a local shearer to source small quantities of distinctive British fleeces. These are used to create unique yarns and handwoven rugs, ensuring valuable wool is put to good use. Production is intentionally small scale, with batches typically ranging from 20–50kg.
